Two different jobs in one town: a flat on a shared ventilation riser, and a house at the edge of the forest.
We travel out to Balozi and carry out sanitary treatment of premises. The most common reasons we are called: mould in the bathroom or on an external wall corner, a damp or sewage smell in a flat, treatment after flooding, preparing a flat for letting or sale, and putting a house right after a long spell standing empty.
We have no premises in Balozi — we travel from the Riga side on request and agree a day. The town is compact, so several properties can usually be dealt with in one call-out if they are close together. If you and a neighbour are working on the same problem, say so straight away.
An apartment building has two things a private house does not, and it is exactly those that determine how much treatment can solve.
More on what in a flat is yours and what is the building's responsibility: flat disinfection. If the main symptom is a smell rather than a patch — odour removal.
Before ordering treatment in a flat, check the draught: hold a thin strip of paper against the ventilation grille. If it does not move, the cause is the ventilation, not fungal growth.
Around Balozi there is woodland and damper ground — this is a place that grew up out of peat extraction, and that history is still legible in the terrain and the character of the soil. In practice it means a few questions worth checking on a specific property:
None of these observations on its own means the house has mould. They are conditions to check — and they are the first things we look at during an inspection. For basement cases mould in the basement is useful; if there was a leak or flooding — treatment after flooding.
The method is determined not by the micro-organism but by what is in the space and how long it can be left empty. In Balozi that means three typical scenarios in practice.
After any of these methods the space has to be left empty for a set time and then aired. We give the exact figure before the work, not after, because it needs planning around.
The first mistake is painting over the patch. Paint seals the growth beneath it, it carries on growing and after a few months pushes through — only now it is under a layer of paint and harder to reach. If you are planning treatment, do not paint.
The second is where furniture stands. A wardrobe or a sofa pressed tight against an external wall stops the air moving behind it. The corner behind it becomes the coldest point in the room, and moisture condenses there. Sometimes all that is needed is a couple of centimetres of clearance.
The third is drying laundry in a closed room throughout the heating season. One load of laundry releases a considerable amount of water into a room, and with the windows shut it has nowhere to go.
Property type, area, floor and the main symptom — a patch or a smell.
In a flat we start with the ventilation; in a house, with the foundations and the lower storey.
We establish how large an area has to be worked on and whether adjoining rooms need treating.
We carry out the treatment and tell you the airing time.
We set out what needs putting right in the house or flat so the problem does not recur.
If the inspection shows treatment is not needed, we say so. Equally, we do not do building works: insulation, waterproofing, drainage and installing ventilation are a builder's job, not ours.
This page is about the town of Balozi, including Titurga and the nearby residential estates. The rest of the Kekava municipality is a large area where distances can differ substantially, so the address in your enquiry matters more than the name of the town. Nearby we also work here: Baldone and Ikskile.

Partly. Treatment removes what has already soaked into your rooms and textiles, but it does not stop the transfer along the shared riser. If the source is in another flat or in the basement, the property manager has to deal with it, and we set that out clearly in the inspection description.
No. The town of Balozi is compact, but the municipality is large and distances there differ. Within Riga travel is included in the price; outside Riga there is a surcharge by distance, which we calculate from the specific address.
Yes, and it works out better than two separate call-outs. Say so when you enquire, so we can plan the time and put together one quotation covering both.
Describe the situation — we will tell you whether treatment is needed at all, and which one.
