A green district on the edge of the forest — and shade is the one local condition that genuinely changes how fast a structure dries out.
In Mezciems we come out for mould removal, odour removal, ozone treatment and treatment after flooding, a failure or long vacancy. The properties here are flats in blocks, detached houses, and the ancillary and retail premises of large complexes.
We have no premises and no staff on the ground — we travel out on request and agree a day and a time. In Riga travel is included in the price; we do not promise arrival to the minute.
If the inspection shows that treatment is not needed, we say so and do not sell the job.
Mezciems borders Bikernieki forest, and some buildings stand in a shaded, cooler setting with less air movement. That does not mean there will be mould. It means the façade dries more slowly after rain, and a north-facing wall can stay damp for days.
Indoors that has a direct consequence: a damp external wall is also a cooler external wall. Room moisture condenses first on the coolest surface — usually in corners, behind furniture and at the window reveals. So at an inspection we always ask which way the wall with the patch faces.
More on the mechanism: causes of mould and mould on walls.
At an inspection we do not go straight to the patch. First we look at the conditions, because they are what tell us whether this is condensation, a leak or ground moisture — and those three call for entirely different action.
Only then do we measure the area to be treated. It is usually larger than the visible patch, and if the growth is under wallpaper, panelling or skirting, the finish has to come off. The calculation: from €1.50/m², minimum from €80. See inspection.
Alongside housing, Mezciems has large institutional complexes and sports facilities. Work there is planned differently from a flat: access is controlled, the spaces are large, and the time window is often short.
Prices for commercial properties and large spaces are by area: up to 100 m² €1.20/m², 100–300 m² €0.90/m², 300–1000 m² €0.70/m². We work the same way in the neighbouring districts: Purvciems and Jugla.
The work is done in one visit if the scope allows. In the enquiry we establish the type of property, the area, the floor and whether the space can be left empty; then we agree a day and a time.
On site we inspect first, then measure the area to be treated, and only then talk about price. If we can see that a plumber, roofer or ventilation specialist is needed first, we say so and do not start the treatment.
After the work we say two things: how long the space cannot be used and how to air it. That time is worth planning in advance, especially if people are in the space day to day or it is part of a larger property.
We do not do building works — waterproofing, drainage, roof repairs, insulation or installing ventilation. Treatment removes the growth, but it does not replace the repair that removes the cause.
The starting price follows the type of property, but the final figure is made up of a few specific things. All of them are visible at the inspection, and we say them before the work rather than on the invoice.
The space has to be empty during treatment — of pets and plants as well. How long it cannot be used we say on site, based on the volume and how well it airs.
Flats: 1-room from €55, 2-room from €65, 3-room from €75, 4-room from €85. Private houses from €95. Commercial premises: up to 100 m² €1.20/m², 100–300 m² €0.90/m², 300–1000 m² €0.70/m². Mould: inspection from €40, treatment from €1.50/m², minimum from €80. Ozone treatment €1.20/m², minimum €60.

Indirectly. In a shaded spot the façade dries more slowly after rain, and a damper external wall is a cooler surface indoors. Room moisture condenses on it. But that is a question for a particular wall in a particular building, not a claim about the whole district.
Yes, and it happens. If the smell comes from a dried-out trap or a lack of draught rather than from growth, we say so at the inspection and do not start the work. The inspection is from €40, and that is the only thing you pay in that case.
By area: up to 100 m² €1.20/m², 100–300 m² €0.90/m², 300–1000 m² €0.70/m². For mould treatment we calculate the area to be treated from €1.50/m², minimum from €80. On large properties the work can be split into zones.
