One of Riga's largest residential districts, where series-built panel blocks, new-builds and commercial units stand side by side — three different jobs on one list of addresses.
In Purvciems we come out for sanitary treatment of premises: mould removal, odour removal, ozone treatment and treatment after an event — flooding, a sewage failure, long vacancy or a change of tenants. The properties vary a lot, because the district is large: flats in series-built blocks, flats in new developments, offices and retail units along the main streets.
We have no premises and no permanent staff in Purvciems. We travel out on request and agree a specific day and time. That is why a few details help in the first conversation: the type of building, the floor, the area, the number of rooms, and whether the property can be left empty.
The address "in Purvciems" tells us almost nothing on its own — the work is set by the type of building and the floor, not by the district.
Purvciems is one of the few districts where a nine-storey series-built block, a new development next to it and a ground-floor commercial unit with its own entrance can all sit in the same block. We start each of them with a different question.
In a series-built block we most often end up looking at corner flats. Two of their walls are external, heat loss is greater and the internal surface is cooler — and it is on the coolest surface that moisture in the room air condenses first. That is not a claim about the whole district, but something to check in your particular flat. More on the mechanism: mould on walls and mould removal.
In a series-built block the kitchen and bathroom ducts are in many cases joined into a shared riser. As long as the draught works in every flat, the air moves upwards. If the stack is blocked somewhere, or one flat has been completely sealed, the flow reverses in places and a neighbour's air reaches you.
In a case like this, ozone treatment only makes sense once the source or the draught has been sorted out — otherwise the result disappears within days. Descriptions here: smell from neighbours, ozone treatment.
A common case is sealed windows with no trickle vent. In the original design the air came in through the gaps around the timber windows and the stack drew it out. Once the windows are replaced the supply disappears and the stack stops. Technically nothing is broken — half the system has simply gone.
The blocks in Purvciems are wide and the buildings often stand deep in the courtyard, well back from the street. Deglava, Dzelzavas and Stirnu streets carry heavy traffic, so the real question before a visit is not "where is the building" but "where can we stop with the equipment".
If the enquiry comes from a building manager about communal areas — a stairwell, lift lobby, refuse chamber or cellar — we plan the work for a time when there is less movement in the building, and we say in advance how long the space has to stay free. More: stairwell treatment and for property managers.
We work the same way in the neighbouring districts: Plavnieki, Teika, Mezciems. If you have several properties close together on the same day, say so straight away — it is simpler as one call-out.
In a flat in a series-built block the work is usually a half-day job. First the inspection and measurements, then stripping back the finishes where that is needed, then the treatment itself, then drying and airing. The flat has to be empty during treatment — no people, pets or plants in it.
How long the room cannot be used we tell you on site: it depends on the volume, on how much product was used and on how well the space can be aired. In a new-build with mechanical ventilation the airing goes faster than in an older block with the windows shut.
Flats: 1-room from €55, 2-room from €65, 3-room from €75, 4-room from €85. Private houses from €95. Commercial premises by area: up to 100 m² €1.20/m², 100–300 m² €0.90/m², 300–1000 m² €0.70/m². Mould: inspection from €40, treatment from €1.50/m², minimum from €80. Ozone treatment €1.20/m², minimum €60.

No. No office, no depot and no permanent staff in the district. We travel out on request and agree a day and a time. In Riga travel is included in the price.
First move the furniture away from that wall and watch for a few days whether the patch appears after showering and drying laundry. Then check the draught at the ventilation grille. If there is no draught, treatment on its own will not solve the problem — we say so at the inspection stage.
Yes. In commercial premises we usually plan the work outside working hours, because after treatment the space has to stay empty for a while and then be aired. The price is by area: up to 100 m² €1.20/m², 100–300 m² €0.90/m².
